Who can I ask if I have questions or problems / Who are my contact persons?

As a part of the ESE-week do you get to know many tutors who will help you with problems and also be available to answer your questions. You can also always ask your friendly student representatives of the auditorium. Furthermore, you can get information or contact other students in the internet forum eXma.

The Studentenwerk Dresden offers for instance legal advice and social counseling.

 

How do I find my way on the campus?

During the scavenger hunt on the campus (“Campus-Schnitzeljagd”) as part of the ESE you will get to know the area for the first time. Additional you find on the TU Dresden service-website position plans and a campus-navigation-system to help you find your target.

 

What awaits me with the start of the courses?

The tutors will help you to sign up for your courses of the first semester. When the first lecture takes place you will get more information to each subject. Don’t forget to visit the websites of your subjects regular, you can find there key dates, lecture notes and exercises.

 

What else is important?

Umzugsbeihilfe:
All students who moved to Dresden this year can apply for 150€ as a financial aid (“Umzugsbeihilfe”) in the period from January to March 2013.

Mensa:
You can get a so called Emeal card to pay for lunch after you check in your Emeal-coupon (contained in your semester paper) at the info point in any refectory (“Mensa”) on the campus.

SLUB:
For borrowing books in the SLUB you need a user account, information and the registration form do you find on the website of the library.

Sports:
Who wants to take part in one of the sports courses shouldn’t miss the time for applications. (Information on the website of the USZ).

 

In which period do we have courses?

Every lecture or tutorial takes 90 minutes, between them there are breaks of 20 minutes (time pattern of the TU Dresden).

What are tutors?

Tutors are students who guide you and help you with their knowledge and experience when you have questions.
