You should definitely be there, because after a short welcome, you will be given an introduction to the most important things you need to know about studying and especially the first semester. As a thank you for your exemplary attendance, you will receive a first semester bag with lots of cool goodies.

10:50 – 14:30 10:50 – 14:30Lots of ESE tutors will help you get started in the big university world. After the welcome, we will divide you into smaller groups. You will then go to other rooms with your tutors and we will give you an overview of the ESE week and everything else you need to know. Then you and your group will go out to eat together in the Alte Mensa.

19:00 19:00We invite you to spend the evening with us and plunge into the student nightlife. We will gradually work our way from one student club to the next. Incidentally, students from all the other faculties will also be out and about at the same time. Networking is the keyword. Course A is specifically intended for international students who want to speak English and course H for all that don't want to drink alcohol.

Course enrollment and FSR Presentation
12:00 – 14:30 12:00 – 14:30One of, if not the, most important appointment of the week. On the one hand, we introduce you to the student council and then we explain to you how to enrol in the seminar groups and thus in a study plan. That way, nothing will go wrong in the first semester. At the same time, we will answer all your questions in the stream if you can't be there in person.
You should have already registered once via the coupon portal and changed your initial password so that you have access to your ZIH login. Your ZIH login consists of a username (first 2 letters of the first name, 2 letters of the last name, 3 numbers and one letter) and password, which you will need on site for enrollment.

Tour durch den Hochleistungsrechner
11:30 – 13:30 11:30 – 13:30This year there will be a guided tour of the local computer center, the Lehmann-Zentrum Rechenzentrum (LZR). Among other things, it houses the TU's high-performance computer and a DLR cluster, surrounded by a lot of infrastructure for cooling, power supply and data transfer. The tour is led by Prof. Nagel himself. He is the director of the ZIH and will meet some of you again in Rechnerarchitektur. The number of participants is strictly limited to 20.
