Grand Opening
09:00 – 11:00 09:00 – 11:00It's getting serious, we're getting started. You should definitely be there, because after a short welcome, you will be given an introduction to the most important things you need to know about studying and especially the first semester. As a thank you for your exemplary attendance, you will receive a first semester bag with lots of cool goodies.
Even as a master's student (CS/CMS) you should attend this event, since we have planned a special presentation for you afterwards.

11:00 – 13:00 11:00 – 13:00Lots of ESE tutors will help you get started in the big university world. After the welcome, we will divide you into smaller groups. You will then go to other rooms with your tutors and we will give you an overview of the ESE week and everything else you need to know.

Hiking
04:45 – 16:00 04:45 – 16:00We will go hiking in our beautiful national park Saxon Switzerland and the Ore Mountains, which luckily are easily reachable from Dresden. Register for one of the tours at check-in.
Please remember to wear weather-resistand clothing and appropriate shoes. You will also need your semester ticket to ride the trains.

Dinner before the Club Tour
16:00 – 19:00 16:00 – 19:00There will be a little refreshment before the club tour so that you don't go hungry. Since we want to start with the first station at 7 pm, we would be happy if you are at the APB by 6:15 pm at the latest. A little surprise awaits you there ;)

Student club tour
19:00 19:00We invite you to spend the evening with us and plunge into the student nightlife. We will gradually work our way from one student club to the next. Incidentally, students from all the other faculties will also be out and about at the same time. Networking is the keyword. Course A is specifically intended for international students who want to speak English and course H for all that don't want to drink alcohol.
Please bring some cash.

Breakfast and lecturers' introduction
8:00 8:00Come along and start the day with us. The free breakfast offers you the perfect opportunity to get to know your fellow students. Meanwhile, you will get to know some of the faces that you will often see at the front in lectures. The lecturers will tell you a bit about themselves, their subject areas and their lectures of the first semester. Including anecdotes, you don't wanna miss this!

Talks about your studies, the faculty and iFSR introduction
11:00 – 14:00 11:00 – 14:00The equal opportunities officer of the Faculty, Iris Braun, as well as the student council (US!!!) will introduce themselves. Afterwards, the student council and Ms Schütze of the examination office will give you a quick overview of studying computer science at TU Dresden. This will be in german and mostly catered to people new at the university.

Course enrollment
14:00 – 15:00 14:00 – 15:00One of, if not the, most important appointment of the week for Bachelor and Diploma students. We'll explain to you how to enroll in the seminar groups and thus in a study plan. That way, nothing will go wrong in the first semester. At the same time, we will answer all your questions in the stream if you can't be there in person.
You should have already registered via the coupon portal and changed your initial password so that you have access to your ZIH login. Please have a laptop or cell phone ready so that you can enroll yourself quickly. If you don't have either one, computers are also available on site in the PC pools.

Campustour
15:00 – 17:00 15:00 – 17:00The Main Campus is huge and sometimes confusing. To get used to it there is a game you can play over the week. Just find a group, 2h of your time and follow the instructions in the game (Checkin). If you want to read the tasks in english you can switch the language on the very first page. Probably you'll have planty of time on friday to spend on campus.

LAN Party / LoL Tournament / RIOT Hackathon
17:00 17:00You probably know the prejudice that computer science people are full-time gamers... Well here you can give in and play your favorite games with your fellow students, and we'll order pizza for you. In addition, starting at 8 pm, 404 Multigaming will be hosting a League of Legends tournament where prizes can be won. You can also take your first steps in embedded programming at our RIOT-Hackathon! No worries, nice people from the Chair for Distributed and Networked Systems are there to help you.
Please bring your own computer (and accessories!). You won't be provided with one. For the RIOT-Hackathon we recommend bringing a laptop.
