There were some small changes to 3 schedules (Bachelor/5, Bachelor/6, Diplom/1)
What?
The Freshmen week 2016 (we call it “ESE”) will take place during the last week before the lectures begin, as per usual. During this time we try to make the start of your studies as smooth and easy as possible. There are several different events throughout the week covering topics such as enrollment and schedules, navigating the campus a tour through the city of Dresden and many more. Some of those event unfortunately take place parallel to the maths preparatory course (“Brückenkurs”), naturally we recommend attending the “ESE”. You can have a look at the timetable for an overview of all the events that await you throughout the week. Or just come to the building of the computer science faculty on Monday morning and we’ll tell you all about the things you’ll need to know.
As to who “we” are: We are the ESE tutors, senior students who like to help freshmen in their spare time. You’ll be able to recognize us by our yellow shirts.
When?
The “ESE” will begin this year because of a holiday with breakfast on Tuesday at 9am. Please bring your student id-card (Studentenausweis), your photo identification, Emeal certificate (Emeal Bescheinigung) and 10€ (5€ deposit and 5€ credit) for the canteen-card Emeal. You can find more information on the website of the Studentenwerk Dresden. You can get the canteen-card every day during the breakfast.

If not stated otherwise all events will take place in Andreas-Pfitzmann-Bau in the room E023. (just follow the people with the yellow shirts)
Important: Events marked with a green border (green font color for the barrier free version) are of special interest to non-german speakers, as they offer support for english in one form or another.
Download the current version of the timetable as iCal-file to import it into your calendar at home.
Hiking trip on the 15th October
Dresden isn’t known only for the old town but as well for the beautiful hiking paradise, the Sächsische Schweiz. We’ll meet on Saturday, the 15th of October, at the train station “Dresden Hauptbahnhof”, platform 18, and we’ll take the train S1 in the direction of Krippen at 8:29. Don’t forget your student ID, it is your train ticket! It’ll take us approximately five hours excluding breaks, so don’t forget enough food for the day. We’ll go back from Schmilka with the ferry and train.
