That's it. Feedback

Check-in ESE game

Quick guide / TL;DR

Please note that the ESE game starts on Friday at about 2 pm.

  1. Connect Mumble with pvc.ifsr.de:64738 and divide you into groups with the character names (about 6 freshmans per group)
  2. Connect Minetest with pet.ifsr.de:30000 and choose name with charactername_number or body part (together you represent one character)
  3. check spiel.ese.ifsr.de and get your login password from the Minetest-ZIH-Help-Desk.
  4. Have fun and do the questlines

The ESE game is one of the last big events of ESE. Here the whole study program is to be played through in fast motion. Normally this always takes place in the faculty, but for current reasons this is unfortunately not possible this year. We have therefore prepared an online alternative. The faculty was modeled in Minetest. Minetest is an open source variant of Minecraft. To participate in the ESE game you need some software so that everyone can have fun together successfully.

Procedure

During the ESE game you will play together in a group of about 4 people a student who is just starting to study computer science at the TU Dresden. You will be assigned a character at the beginning of the game. The tasks you have to complete are based on your studies and can be found in different quest series. The quest series consist of subquests, each of which is assigned a location in the (virtual) faculty. There you will find a task to be solved if your character is to successfully complete the studies. You can also check the quests and your progress at spiel.ese.ifsr.de. Good luck!
