This year, the ESE starts on Monday, October 19th with the introductory event in the livestream. The current
schedule is also available as a web app for your mobile phone or tablet.
It's Corona Time.
The first semester introduction 2020 at the Faculty of Computer Science is also affected by the COVID-19
pandemic. Taking into account all necessary measures to ensure the infection protection to create the
best possible concept for you.
We are currently working on the final planning of the individual events and will regularly inform you
here.
So that we can fully adapt to the current situation, changes are also possible shortly before
ESE.

Digital events
We carry out many ESE events digitally. So that you can participate in the full experience,
you should have a working microphone. A webcam is optional.
We generally recommend the use of Microsoft Edge (Chromium) or Google Chrome as browser.

Introductory event
After a few welcoming speeches, you'll get all the important information you need for your first semester (German only). Afterwards you get your amazing uni-bag with a lot of cool stuff. At 9:30 there will be an equivalent introductory event in English.

Tutorials
Many ESE tutors will help you with your start into the big university world. We give you an overview of the week and everything you need to know. The English tutorial is fused with the introductory event, so it will take place in the same Big Blue Button room as the introductory event

This is your chance to get to know the professors before the lectures are starting. They are gonna talk about themselves and what they are doing exactly. (German only) This is only mildly interesting for master students since we mostly have a different set of lecturers.

Speed Friending
Get to meet awesome new people following the speed dating principle. Use this great opportunity to have fun, socialize, build a friend network, however you want to view it! After this kickoff the Speed Friending will stay open throughout the week, so feel free to come by anytime.

An event of the Erasmus student network, designed to have German and international students meet in a relaxed atmosphere in a pub in the Neustadt. They foster inspiring conversations, language practice, brain teasers, jokes and much more. It takes place every Monday. You'll navigate to the pub together after meeting at Albertplatz.

The most important date of the week. We will introduce you to the most important tools and explain everything that belongs to them. So nothing will go wrong in the first semester. (German only) Master students may use different systems, so this event is not so relevant for them. CMS students will receive more information about enrollment in the official welcome session on Friday

Campus scavenger hunt
Get to know our beautiful campus, solve riddles and get to know the other students while working as a team. And the best team can even win a price! Everything is prepared in German and English.
All you need is a browser (Microsoft Edge Chromium, Firefox or Google Chrome), a microphone and possibly a webcam / mobile phone and the Safari browser is not supported.

An event of the Erasmus student network. They're having a presential city rallye so that you get to explore Dresden.

Hikingtour
It's Wednesday, so we turn one gear back and after the club tour some fresh air can't hurt. You can leave the many impressions to rest a bit during a hike through the beautiful Saxon Switzerland and enjoy nature for the first time. Since we can not influence the weather, please be suitably dressed and don't forget food, water (!) and a camera. There will be some English-speaking tutors leading groups.

In the name of the Rectorial Board and the Senate of Technische Universität Dresden Professor Ursula M. Staudinger, Rector of TU Dresden very warmly invites the students of the new academic year to the Ceremonial Matriculation. Parallel to it there will be an online info market.
